October was the month of “Coming Out Day” and it is more than a day to be proud, it is a day to celebrate life, adoration, and give thanks to all of those brave individuals that made our movement what it is today.

Philadelphia’s Black Same-sex attracted Pride Weekend, also known as Philly Black Pride, typically takes place in April an has, for decades, coincided with Penn Relay Weekend. Its mission is to alter the living and social environments of Lesbian, Gay, Fluid, Transgender and Gay (LGBTQ) people of color.

It’s been a while since a fresh gay bar has opened in Philly’s iconic Gayborhood. But that changes today. The Little Lgbtq+ Pub, located at 102 South 13th Street on the corner of Drury Street, is an elevated bar from Washington D.C. The three friends behind the venture — co-owners Benjamin Gander, Dusty Martinez, and Dito Sevilla — just announced they’ll be opening their Philly location with a few local twists added to the decor and menu.
